High School Boys Select Soccer
Overview
Soccer is NOT over after the High School or U15 season!High School Select: Boys: U16-U19
U16-U19 age group who are intending to play for their high school in the spring. These players will play in college showcase style tournaments, indoor tournaments, advanced training sessions, and the possibility of attending college Identification camps. Our focus for these teams is to provide an opportunity for our players to be seen by college coaches, play in a highly competitive environment to help prepare them for their high school seasons and beyond, grow not only as players on the field, but as teammates, and to teach them life lessons through sport. We will be exposing the players to the "college atmosphere" during training and will be stretching the players to their potential.Players that play on our select teams, are also available to participate in our recreational program in the fall. HS Select teams will participate in tournaments based on availability in the fall and winter. No maximum roster .
Future program registration fee: $110 + tournament expenses.
This team will be coached by Brian Longbottom
U15 and U16 Boy's (NPL / CSA Leagues)
Coached by Nate Dobbin and Brian Palmer. Team will actively participate s in the US Club National Premier League (NPL) and Colorado Advance League (CSA) and tournaments throughout the year. Since this team will be playing in the NPL/CSA leagues in the spring, they will not be eligible to play for their high school's during the 2027 spring season. Roster max 18Future program registration fee: $620 + tournament expenses.
Kick Around / Tryouts / Intent To Play
The Kick Around / Tryouts for our High School Boys Select team are as follows. This program is open to all 9-12 grade players for the upcoming season.U.S. Youth Soccer Age Group Change (Beginning Fall 2026)
US Youth Soccer, along with US Club Soccer and American Youth Soccer Organization, announced that beginning with the 2026-2027 season, youth soccer age groups will shift from the calendar birth-year system (Jan 1 - Dec 31) to a seasonal or school-year system (Aug 1 - Jul 31).
The goal of this change is to align players more closely with their school classmates, which helps with social development and keeps teams more consistent with school grades.
What This Means for Players
•Age groups will now be determined using an August 1 - July 31 cutoff rather than January 1 - December 31.
•The change will apply to team formation and competitions beginning Fall 2026.
Policy at Cheyenne Soccer Club
To help minimize disruption during the transition, Cheyenne Soccer Club will allow flexibility for existing teams:
•Players already on an established team may "play up" and remain on their current team.
•This helps preserve the team cohesion and chemistry already developed.
•Players will have the option to try out for their current team or try out for their new age-appropriate team based on the updated age group structure.

Because the Colorado league is not an option for our High School age boys (conflicting seasons), these teams will mainly participate in College Showcase style tournaments. Below is a list of tournaments that our Select teams have attended in the past:- Denver Cup (Denver, CO)
